School Board Recognition Month
January is School Board Recognition Month and the members of Elizabeth Schools would like to thank our school board for their commitment and contribution to our schools and our students. These volunteers serve countless hours working to help ensure that our students are given every opportunity to excel. Elizabeth School District encourages our community to join us in recognizing our school board members for their dedication and leadership. Please read Govenor John Hickenlooper’s Proclamation.

 
Update: State of the District
DID YOU KNOW?

  • Moody’s Credit Rating Organization assigned the district with an underlying credit rating of Aa3 in 2012 indicating that the district’s financial performance is sound
  • For the past ten years the Elizabeth School District has received a clean or “unqualified” opinion from their independent auditors 
  • In the 2014-2015 school years EHS had 15 foreign exchange students enrolled; Mexico, Korea, Germany, Italy, China, Spain, and Denmark
  • Our board and superintendent are engaged in a statewide effort to increase K12 funding to the levels called for in our state's constitution and have testified, and engaged our community to support, legislative efforts to increase local control of education.
  •  Currently we have approximately 142 students enrolled that come from out of district
  • We pride ourselves on the strong parent and educator partnership
  •  We are known for our family oriented culture with a caring and dedicated staff
  • We have high expectations for all students and emphasize character, respect and caring for others

Dear Parents, Staff, and Community Members:

We feel it is important to provide an update on several key school issues;

  1. Feedback on the ballot questions from the recent election
  2. The district budget planning process
  3. Selection of a permanent principal at Elizabeth High School for 2015/16
  4. A statewide study of high-stakes standardized testing
 
ESD BOE Recognized by the Colorado Association of School Boards
The Elizabeth School Board was awarded a certificate of recognition for being a board of distinction by the Colorado Association of School Boards.
